NEVER STOP ASKING

What about tsunamis?

At sea Raffles will not even notice a tsunami!

The only time one might conceivably pose a danger is if Raffles is tied up alongside when a tsunami actually reaches shore but as tsunami are only really dangerous in shallow, shelving water, and Raffles always berths in about 7 meters, even then not so critical.

However today the world is more aware of tsunami and is rapidly identifying the areas where they may occur, with more and more warning systems being installed. So Raffles will normally only dock in tsunami sheltered locations for example on the East Coast of Nias Island, not the West, or will keep away from dangerous areas by staying 200 meters offshore at anchor in 8m plus water depths.

If it is ever caught alongside then the sea receding is the first sign and this provides enough time for Raffles to be moved sideways, away from the dock by its using its 4 electric 360° propulsors which are always on stand by, to a safe distance offshore.
