NEVER STOP ASKING

Is the one week at sea (in every 4) actually 7 days at sea non stop?

No, it is not. Typically the sea transits between one stop / port and the next will be measured in hours rather than days. In the Mediterranean, Caribbean, and much of Asia, a voyage of only 8 hours can mean a new country to visit.

The exception of course is Atlantic and Pacific transits when a single voyage could be as much as 15 days plus.

Also when operating in the Antarctic / Arctic regions, where there are no “ports”! Raffles is effectively “at sea” all the time.

Note: Visits to / up fresh water rivers, to help clean the ships bottom will be a regular occurrence, and also very interesting.
